Counting abandoned until Tuesday

A council trialling a new way of electronic voting has been forced to abandon its count until Tuesday.

Warwick District Council, along with neighbouring Stratford, suffered delays on Thursday as scanning machines failed to perform.

Stratford completed its count by hand on Friday but a second attempt to complete counting with the machine in Warwick had to be called off.

Ballot papers will now be counted by hand on Tuesday morning.
