Conservatives celebrate Rugby win

The Conservatives have gained Rugby, one of their top targets in the local elections, from no overall control.

They needed just one more seat to gain control but won three seats, while Labour lost two and an independent lost their seat.

The party had previously formed a minority administration of the Warwickshire council.

The new council will consist of 27 Conservative, 11 Labour and 10 Liberal Democrats.
