Cable fault cuts power to homes
Nearly 3,000 properties have suffered a power cut in Worcestershire.

Central Networks said about 800 properties are still without power in the Malvern area but engineers are at the scene to try and correct the fault.

A spokesman said the incident is a result of a problem with an underground cable in the WR14 postcode area.

Jamie Majid from the company told BBC News that they are trying to switch residents to other parts of their network while they restore supplies.

"The first thing we do when we arrive at the scene of a fault is to get people back on-line as soon as possible," he said.

"So, what out engineers are doing is trying to do is to get as many customers as possible switched over to other parts of the network and we will look to address the problem itself."
