The Right Reverent Colin Bennetts is to retire
The Bishop of Coventry is to retire at the end of 2007, after nine years.

The Right Reverend Colin Bennetts, 67, said he was looking forward to a busy year before stepping down in December.

He intends to visit all the deaneries of the Coventry diocese and will continue to be an active member of the House of Lords.

He said he would like to leave behind a confident, growing church which served the community - but did not take itself too seriously.
