Giant porridge bowl breaks record
Porridge record
The giant vat of porridge weighed in at 66.26kg
The world's biggest bowl of porridge has been cooked in Warwickshire to highlight the benefits of breakfast.

The giant vat at the National Farmers' Union (NFU) headquarters in Stoneleigh weighed in at 66.26kg (146lb), local trading standards officers said.

It was served up by farmers and members of the Territorial Army to promote UK farming and encourage more people to eat a healthy breakfast.

NFU president Peter Kendall said the porridge tasted "absolutely fantastic".

But he added that there was a serious message from farmers.

"We can produce all the ingredients for a great British breakfast, he said.

"Nutritionists show that having a good breakfast sets you up mentally and helps concentration - it's a great way to start the day."

Pupils from the nearby Crackley Hall school in Kenilworth helped polish off the porridge.
