Baby's death treated as unlawful
River Alne
The baby's body was found in the River Alne last week
The death of a newborn girl whose body was found in a Warwickshire river is being treated as an unlawful killing.

Detectives say they found injuries on the child's body that are inconsistent with childbirth, and could not have been caused by a difficult birth.

The baby's body was found in Aston Cantlow near Stratford-upon-Avon on 11 May by a family walking along a footpath by the River Alne.

Items of clothing have been recovered from the scene.

Police are still trying to trace the child's mother.
