Driver kidnapped in computer raid
A delivery driver has been attacked, threatened at knifepoint and bundled into the boot of a car during a computer robbery in Warwickshire.

The 54-year-old City Link van driver was attacked as he drove towards Hunningham along the Fosse Way during Tuesday evening.

He was later pushed out of the car at Shilton, near Coventry.

His van was found burnt out at Top Road, Barnacle. Sixty laptops, valued at £500 each, were stolen.

Masked raider

A Warwickshire Police spokeswoman said the theft took place just after the driver had made a delivery in Leamington Spa.

As he approached crossroads near Hunningham, he noticed a green Volkswagen Golf TDI in front of him.

He heard a bang and a man wearing a balaclava climbed into his passenger seat, threatened him with a knife and told him to drive.

He drove along the Fosse Way towards Princethorpe and then along the A45 until he was told to pull over in Withybrook Lane near Shilton.

"A small dark hatchback car arrived and the man had a hood pulled over his head before he was bundled into the back of it," the spokeswoman said.

The car was driven around for a while before the man was released in Leicester Road.

He was not physically injured but police said he was very shaken by the experience.
