A man has died in what police think may have been a hit-and-run incident in Warwickshire.
Police said the pedestrian was struck by a car on Station Road in Nether Whitacre, near Coleshill, Warks.
He was lying on the ground being helped by the female motorist when he is believed to have been hit by a second car which then drove off.
The incident happened on Friday. The driver of the second vehicle identified himself to police on Saturday.
The man who died has not yet been identified.
'Assistance call'
A police spokesman said: "The driver of the vehicle that struck him stopped and called for assistance nearby.
"It is believed that the casualty may then have been struck by a second vehicle whilst he was in the carriageway."
Warwickshire Police say the results of a post-mortem test have proved inconclusive so they are unable to to say for certain whether he was struck by the second vehicle.
The incident happened around 2320 GMT and Warwickshire Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen a man walking in Station Road around the time of the collision or who may have seen the collision.
Police say he stopped and spoke to the woman driver of the first car.
