Missing man 'should come forward'
Mariusz Szpyt
Police still want to speak to Mariusz Szpyt
Warwickshire Police are urging a man they want to talk to in connection with a suspected murder in Rugby last week to come forward.

They believe Ryszard Sawczyk, from Poland, died at a house in Evans Road but they have not found the body of the 32-year-old married man.

Detectives want to speak to Mariusz Szpyt, also Polish, who is missing.

Det Supt Ken Lawrence said Mr Szpyt, 22, was probably feeling very confused and should get in touch with police.

Police think Mr Szpyt left the scene in a blue or black left-hand drive Volkswagen Golf with the Polish registration plate ZS-60262 3/8.

Mr Szpyt, who does not speak English very well, has links with Yeovil, Somerset, where he has worked as an agricultural labourer.

Police think he could have returned to Poland.

Det Supt Lawrence said: "We are appealing to the Polish community to help us trace Mariusz, and to help to locate the Polish registered VW Golf in order that we can establish what has happened to the victim.

"We believe that Mariusz may turn to members of the Polish community. We ask you to consider that a fellow member of your community is also believed to be a victim of this incident."

Mr Sawczyk came to live in England in May to work in Warwickshire.
