Whittle's jet engine was tested at a Rugby factory

A commemorative sculpture to the father of the jet engine is being officially unveiled in Warwickshire.
The bronze sculpture, by Stephen Broadbent, has been inspired by paintings depicting Sir Frank Whittle testing his prototype jet engine.
His son, Ian Whittle, will unveil the installation at Chestnut Fields in Rugby. A number of those who worked with him will also be there.
The jet engine was tested at Rugby's British Thomson-Houston (BTH) factory.
