Road camera filmed as it burned

A road safety camera was filmed as it burned after vandals deliberately set it alight, Warwickshire Police say.

Tyres were placed around the £50,000 camera on the A4091 at Wishaw near Coleshill and then set on fire.

A police spokesman said a number of people were reported to have been videoing the camera as it burned, but they left before police arrived.

The camera, close to the Belfry Golf Club, was completely destroyed by the flames and heat.
