Flood defence project under way
Work is starting on a new flood defence scheme for a Warwickshire town.

The Environment Agency is targeting the River Alne in Henley-in-Arden in a project designed to protect residents and improve wildlife habitat.

The scheme is starting on Monday where the Blackford Bridge joins the Ullenhall Brook. Workers will then move upstream to Beaudesert Lane Bridge.

Improvements will also be made to leisure facilities, such as seating and information boards by the river.

Most of the work will take place away from houses.
