Godiva film 'forced out of city'
Kiera Chaplin
Kiera Chaplin is set to play the title role
The producers behind a film about Coventry's most famous woman say they may be forced to make it in Canada.

Lady Godiva: Back in the Saddle was due to start filming in Coventry this month, but one of the companies funding it has pulled out.

Film bosses are in talks with Canadian firms to help plug the gap. Producer Heath Jones said it was disappointing.

Some of the planned film locations included Coventry's Memorial Park, the city hall and Warwick Castle.

Kiera Chaplin, granddaughter of comic icon Charlie, is set to play the title role in the first movie about Lady Godiva since the 1960s.

As well as Chaplin, the film will feature American Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Tilly, BBC Two's Dead Ringers impressionist Jon Culshaw and TV actor Anthony Head.
