Rescue helicopter lifts fisherman

A rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall has airlifted a sick fisherman from a trawler 120 miles south west of the Isles of Scilly.

The winchman, Petty Officer Dave Rigg, was lowered on to the Spanish trawler to help a 44-year-old man suffering with severe chest pains.

He has been flown to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

The Royal Navy helicopters can fly to a maximum of 200 miles off the coast but can refuel at the Isles of Scilly.
