Picture to trace jam pot mugger

Police e-fit
The image was created following assistance from a witness, police said

Police have issued an e-fit of a man they want to question in connection with the mugging of a 63-year-old woman in Cornwall.

The woman was in Penders Lane, Redruth, on 11 September when a man pushed her to the ground and grabbed her bag.

The mugger only got a pot of jam in the attack. The victim suffered a broken wrist, dislocated shoulder and damage to her left eye.1

The image was drawn up following assistance from a witness, police said.

The woman, who wants to be known only as Beverley, said she was in "awful pain" after the attack at about 1545 BST on 11 September, which was described by police as "disturbing".

Dc Rob Denton said an exhaustive enquiry had already been carried out but that officers hoped the public would help police find the man responsible.

Mugging victim
The woman is still recovering from her injuries

He said: "The victim is still recovering from her injuries two months on from the incident and is still in shock.

"She has two steel plates in her right arm which are a direct result of injuries sustained when she was pushed to the ground."

The suspect is described as between 20 and 26, 5ft 8in (1.75m) tall, of medium to slim build, with a thin stubbly face, and short brown gelled hair.

He was wearing a black sports jacket, blue jeans, white trainers and a silver chain.
