Bus evacuated after catching fire

A single-decker bus in Cornwall was evacuated after it caught fire.

The driver pulled into a layby on the A388 near St Mellion after he realised there was a problem at about 2025 BST on Sunday.

Fire crews from Callington and Saltash dealt with the fire, which broke out in the engine compartment.

Everyone on board got off safely and there were no reported injuries or casualties, a spokesman for Cornwall Fire Brigade said.
