French fisherman injured by wire

A helicopter crew from RNAS Culdrose rescues a French fisherman with head injuries off the Cornish coast

A man has been airlifted to hospital after an accident on board a fishing boat off the Cornish coast.

Falmouth Coastguard coordinated the rescue off Trevose Head.

The 23-year-old French crewman sustained head injuries when he was hit by a wire on board the fishing vessel Cap Frehel at about 0800 BST.

A search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose airlifted the injured seaman to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. His condition is not known.
