Cash injection to improve traffic

Chiverton Cross
A major improvement scheme is planned for 2016

Nearly £4m is to be spent on junction improvements near Truro in Cornwall, it has been announced.

It is part of £30m being spent on transport projects across the country from the Department for Transport's Community Infrastructure Fund.

The aim is to fund crucial transport links to support the building of extra homes for first time buyers, families and people on waiting lists.

Cornwall's £3.8m will be spent on improvements at Chiverton Cross.

Cornwall Council said the cash will pay for small scale improvements ahead of a much larger scheme in 2016.
