Mystery over body found off coast

The body of a man has been recovered from the sea off the coast of Cornwall.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was spotted in the water at Porth Beach in Newquay shortly after 1000 BST.

His body was recovered soon afterwards by the coastguard and Devon and Cornwall Police.

A police investigation is taking place into the circumstances surrounding the man's death. The coroner has been informed.
