Filtration factory to cut 14 jobs

Pall factory, Redruth
About 400 people are employed at the Redruth plant

Fourteen jobs are to go at a manufacturing plant in Cornwall.

The Pall Corporation makes specialist filtration equipment for ships, aircraft and the commercial vehicle industry at its factory in Redruth.

The company said the job losses were a result of a downturn in the sales of machines such as tractors and diggers which used its products.

The firm, which employs about 400 staff at the Redruth plant, said it hoped to avoid compulsory redundancies.

The company also has factories in Ilfracombe and near Newquay in Cornwall but staff at these sites are not affected.
