Travel agent stores are to close

Harvey World Travel said its takings had fallen 20%

Six travel agent stores across Devon and Cornwall are to close after their owner went into administration.

Harvey World Travel (HWT) is closing in Bideford, Exeter, Plymouth and Totnes branches in Devon, as well as Camborne and Falmouth in Cornwall.

However, six other branches in Cornwall - Bodmin, Helston, Newquay, St Austell, Truro and Wadebridge - have been sold to company Vacation World, HWT said.

Harvey World Travel said takings had fallen 20% on the same time last year.

More than 20 people will lose their jobs in the closures.

Anyone who has booked a holiday through Harvey World Travel after 21 May should contact the administrators, Tenon Business Recovery.
