The schedule maximises the potential for weekend visitors

BMI Baby is to operate a new service between the Midlands and Cornwall. The flights from Birmingham International Airport and Newquay Airport will operate four times a week. The airport said the Midlands was one of Cornwall's largest markets and the 70-minute flight would provide a "perfect short break opportunity". BMI Baby spokesman Julian Carr said that the route would also open up opportunities to develop commercial links with the Midlands. Karen Medweth, head of commercial development, said: "Not only will weekend visitors be able to enjoy more time in Cornwall and less time stuck in traffic, but they'll also benefit from the low fares." Ms Medweth said the scheduled Friday and Sunday departure times were aimed at maximising the potential for weekend visitors to come to Cornwall. The service is due to begin on Friday.
