Replica lifeguard hoodies dropped

The yellow and red hoodies looked like real RNLI tops

A Cornish retailer has replaced its line of replica lifeguard hoodies with a new design after concerns they could be confused with the real thing.

The RNLI fears the popular red and yellow tops could mean people mistaking wearers for real lifeguards.

The No Worries shops in Newquay, which started the craze, have dropped the design and are offering a multi-colour replacement unlike the RNLI tops.

The RNLI has welcomed the move and urged other shops to do the same.

No Worries manager Daniel Pettit said: "Having shops in the local community, I thought it would be better to work with the RNLI rather than working against them.

"So we came up with something new and better and just moved on."
