Hospital finance review delayed

John Watkinson
John Watkinson was suspended pending the outcome of the review

A review into the finances at the Royal Cornwall Hospital's Trust (RCHT) will now not be published until the new year, the trust said.

The review, which was due to be published in November, was instigated after the trust's chief executive John Watkinson was suspended in October.

The suspension concerned an overspend at Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust (BHT), his former employer in London.

The RCHT said the independent review team was considering its findings.

The RCHT finance director Joe Teape is the trust's acting chief executive.
