Fewer Cornish homes repossessed

The number of mortgage repossession actions begun in Cornish courts has gone down over the past twelve months.

In the latest quarterly figures, Penzance County Court, which last time showed a steep rise, saw a 10% fall, as did Bodmin.

The only area to see an increase was Truro where there was a rise of 3%.

Nationally, 11,300 homes were repossessed by mortgage lenders in the third quarter of the year - 12% higher than the previous quarter.
