Work done to prevent landslides

Work has been carried out to prevent landslides on the A38 through the Glynn Valley in Cornwall.

The stabilisation work led to the closure over the weekend of the A38 between the Halfway House Pub and the Trago Mills Store.

During the two-day closure, workmen removed loose soil from steep slopes by the side of the road and prepared the ground for stabilisation work.

Routine maintenance will also close the valley overnight until 1 December.
