More trains to run on branchline

The number of train services between Newquay and Par in Cornwall is to be increased.

First Great Western's new timetable will see the number of trains rise from four to seven from mid-December, including new early and late services.

The Friends of the Atlantic Coast Line group (Focal) has been fighting for the last two years for a better connection with the main line.

It welcomed the move, saying it was a significant milestone for local people.
