The OUR said it hoped its review would benefit the telecoms market

Guernsey's utility regulator is recommending changes to Cable and Wireless (C&W) after a review of the services it offers other phone firms.

The Office of Utility Regulation (OUR) review into the wholesale part of the business was started after disputes between C&W and other phone companies.

The OUR is recommending changes including the length of time it takes for key services to be delivered.

It has also put forward proposals for penalties if deadlines are not met.

The Director of Regulation, Martin Byrne, said he hoped it would benefit the local telecoms market and lead to greater competition.

C&W said it was undertaking many activities resulting from the review.

It added that it was looking forward to working with its wholesale customers to further develop the wholesale market.
