Eden proposes 400ft wind turbine

The Eden Project wants to build a giant wind turbine which it says would provide power for the whole site.

The 400ft (127m) machine would be put on the northern side of the Eden site, near St Austell in Cornwall, if Restormel Borough Council agrees.

Some turbines have proved unpopular in other areas of Cornwall.

The Eden environmental charity says it has carried out a consultation with locals and it claims seven out of 10 people support the idea.
