Building firm brings axe on jobs

Construction firm Carillion has confirmed up to 20 jobs will go as it streamlines its operations in Cornwall and Devon.

Some people will face job cuts at the Carillion office in Falmouth and the Exeter office will close altogether.

A spokesman for the company said it remained committed to projects for which it had signed up.

They include the £22.5m refurbishment of Penryn College, Truro Health Park and a number of schools in Exeter.
