Man charged over chemicals blaze

A man has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a pharmaceutical plant in Cornwall was damaged by fire.

Emergency crews were called to Western Pharmaceuticals in St Austell at about 0145 BST on Monday.

The fire, in a first floor despatch area, was contained within a warehouse. Machinery and stock suffered serious smoke damage, police said.

Daniel Edwards, 26, from St Austell, will appear before magistrates later.
