Two workers from the Cornwall-based charity ShelterBox have been sent to Nepal to see how the organisation can help after severe flooding there.

Gary Boe and Jim Miller from the charity's fast response team will assess the need for aid.

More than 50,000 people have been left homeless after a dam collapsed.

ShelterBox workers have just come back from the Ukraine where 220 boxes were delivered to more than 2,000 people whose homes were washed away.

ShelterBox is holding a special fundraising event this weekend to pay for more boxes, which cost about £490 each.

Boxes include: tents, tools, stoves, cooking pots and ground sheets for up to 10 people.

Tents and equipment will be on display in Newlyn and local cadets from the West Cornwall squadron of the Air Training Corps are sleeping out in them during the 48-hour exhibition.
