Rally marks end of consultation

A rally is being held in Cornwall on Monday night to mark the end of the consultation on controversial post office closures in the county.

Cornwall MPs will be joining postmasters and mistresses and community campaigners at the event in Bodmin's Shire Hall.

It was announced in July that 62 post offices will shut in the county.

The rally will be chaired by the former MEP Lord Teverson, with speeches from postmasters, campaigners and MPs.

It follows a similar meeting in Truro last week organised by the Conservatives.

Forty-nine branches are to close in the county with 13 more being replaced with a mobile service.
