Man, 66, injured in street attack

Police in east Cornwall are investigating a serious assault on a 66-year-old man.

Officers cordoned off a section of the B3254 between Dobwalls and Looe after the incident in the Highwood Park area in Dobwalls.

The injured man was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth suffering from a serious head injury.

A 20-year-old man from the Looe area was arrested in Liskeard on suspicion of assault, police said.

He was taken to Launceston police station.
