Reveller serious after cliff fall

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after falling from cliffs in Newquay.

Police were called just before 2300 BST on Friday by staff from a bar who said a man had fallen onto Towan beach from the rear of the premises.

A search was launched and the man was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro by a rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.

The man, from the Midlands, is thought to have been on a stag night.
