A man has died in hospital after getting into difficulties while diving off the Cornish coast.

Newquay's lifeboat and the search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose were called to the scene just after 1500 BST.

The man, who is believed to be from London, was brought to the surface by fellow divers.

He is believed to have been on a trip with a chartered vessel and was taken to hospital where he later died.
