Singers from choirs all over Cornwall are rehearsing for the county's first Eisteddfod-style music festival.

A full size orchestra and 270 singers are practising for the week-long Killiow 2008, due to take place at the beginning of September.

The event is being held in a giant pink marquee at the Killiow estate near Truro.

Organisers say the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to local charities.

The mass choir is made up of professional and amateur Cornish singers.

The Eisteddfod is a Welsh music and poetry festival, which is held annually and can be traced back to the 12th Century.
