Brigade tackles overnight fires
Two people have been rescued from two property fires overnight in Cornwall.

Firefighters were called to a flat in James Street, Penzance, just before midnight. One person was taken to hospital after inhaling smoke.

Separately, in the early hours crews from St Austell and Fowey rescued a man from a semi-detached house in Landreath Place, St Blazey.

Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating arson as a possible cause of the fire in St Blazey.

The man was treated at the scene for the effects of breathing in smoke.
