A waste firm has launched its battle to persuade people in Cornwall to support a waste incinerator near St Dennis.
Waste company Sita, which is applying for planning permission later this year, is showing people what the plant will look like and how it will work.
It says the Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre will handle 240,000 tonnes of waste a year and power 15,000 homes.
Residents fear the affects of emissions but firm says the incinerator will be safe and operate within strict limits.
'Best solution'
Opponents of the scheme also say there should be more recycling instead of incinerating waste.
Louis de Poncheville, general manager for Sita in Cornwall, said: "Waste that has not been reused or recycled needs to be disposed of in a responsible manner.
"We have been contracted to deliver a sustainable alternative to landfill and I believe that energy recovery provides the best solution for the county."
The exhibition will be in St Dennis on Wednesday and Thursday, and in Foxhole on Friday and Saturday. Free buses are running to the exhibitions.
