Medical debris turns up on coast
Medical drips washed up at Bryher in the Isles of Scilly
Coastguards said a container could have gone overboard on a ship
Medical drips are washing ashore on beaches in the Isles of Scilly and north west Cornwall.

Coastguards have had reports of hundreds of saline packs used for intravenous drips being found. None of the items is believed to be dangerous.

Beaches around Sennen Cove and the Isles of Scilly are believed to be the worst affected.

Items are being reported to councils which in turn are monitoring whether clean-up operations are needed.

A spokeswoman for Falmouth Coastguards said they did not know where the items had come from but it was possibly due to a container going overboard.

She said they would not know for certain until any ships reported missing containers.
