Crackdown on underage drinkers
Hundreds of litres of alcohol were seized from underage drinkers in Devon and Cornwall as part of a national campaign by police.

The crackdown from 8 October until 5 November aimed to reduce underage drinking in public places.

A total of 546 litres of beer, 31 litres of cider and 53 litres of spirits were confiscated from people aged under 18 in the South West.

Police seized more than 3,700 litres of alcohol across England and Wales.

They used new powers under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 to disperse groups suspected of alcohol-related disorder.
