Post-mortem tests found Michelle Crossley had 'significant' injuries
A man arrested over the murder of a woman at a Cornish farmhouse has been released without charge.

The body of 39-year-old Michelle Crossley was found in Laity Wendron on the A394 near Helston on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination found she had suffered "significant" head injuries and multiple stab wounds to her body.

Police have released a 64-year-old man pending further inquiries. A man aged 42 from Redruth, who was arrested on Wednesday, remains in custody.

Police believe Mrs Crossley had been dead for a number of hours when her body was discovered inside the house.

Knife search

She was last heard from in a phone call at 1730 GMT on Saturday.

Police are searching for a knife with a minimum blade length of 4in (10cm).

Mrs Crossley was a member of Wendron Cricket Club social committee and had lived at the address since 2002.

A major incident room has been set up at Camborne Police Station and 45 officers are involved.

They are appealing for anyone with information about Mrs Crossley and her life to come forward.
