Cpl Paul Broome
Cpl Broome is part of a huge back-up team for the flying aces.
An RAF corporal from St. Austell has been selected to join the world-famous Red Arrows as part of their 70-strong support team.

Paul Broome, 30, is one of a team of engineers known as "The Blues", who work on the Red Arrows' distinctive two-seat Hawk aircraft.

Mr Broome, who lives in Lincolnshire, will attend many of the 90 displays the team performs each year.

"I feel very privileged," he said. "It's a great challenge."

He attended Poltair Secondary School and was a member of 1225 (St Austell) Air Training Corps, joining the RAF in 1996.

Since the aerobatic team's creation in 1965, they have flown over 4,000 displays in 53 countries.
