Inquest opened into capsize death
An inquest into the death of a woman after a motor boat capsized off the Isles of Scilly has been opened and adjourned in Devon.

Margaret Yates, 69, from Braunton, Devon, was in the boat with her husband and a friend. They were plucked from the sea by a local boat but she died.

Coastguards said it appeared none of them were wearing lifejackets. Both men made statements to detectives.

The inquest was adjourned by Ian Arrow, coroner for Torbay and South Devon.

The small boat, owned by the couple's 80-year-old friend, capsized in the water between St Agnes and St Mary's islands on Sunday.

The RNLI lifeboat was also sent out to help with the rescue as well as the Royal Navy helicopter from Culdrose.

A coastguard spokesman said all three people were recovered from the water very quickly.
