Rescue helicopter locates kayak

A search has been called off for a missing 17-year-old kayaker in the Isles of Scilly.

The emergency services launched a full scale search for the missing teenager from St Martins, who was last seen at 2000 BST on Wednesday.

A rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose spotted a kayak north east of the Isles of Scilly.

Falmouth coastguard, which has been co-ordinating the search, said the search will resume at first light.
