The Conservatives have gained some ground in the local elections for North Cornwall, but there remains no single party with overall control.

The Tories gained three seats - doubling the number of Conservative councillors.

Two seats were gained at the expense of Independent candidates and a seat was won from the Liberal Democrats.

Following the declaration, the new council make up is: Ind 15; LD 14; Con 6; Mebyon Kernow 1.
