Plans for dry ski slope withdrawn
Plans to build a £2m dry ski and snowboard centre near Newquay in Cornwall have been withdrawn.

Mark Bucknell from Cornwall Ski and Snowboard Centre says the decision to withdraw the plans is temporary while further reports are carried out.

The group wants to build a ski slope, half pipe and jump section and a club house at Trevarthian Farm.

But concerns have been aired by local residents about a number of issues including the impact of flood lighting.

The backers of Winterpark Cornwall say plans for the 12-acre (4.8 hectare) site will be re-submitted soon.

They believe 60,000 skiers, snowboarders and tobogganers would use the site all year if it got permission.
