Tunnel closing for routine work
Saltash Tunnel
About 38,000 vehicles use the tunnel on the A38 every day
Drivers are being warned the Saltash Tunnel will be closed on Saturday night for maintenance work.

The Highways Agency says drivers will still be able to use the Tamar Bridge after 1900 GMT, but traffic will be diverted through Saltash.

The work involves testing the signs and lights and cleaning the tunnel walls.

On Sunday night workers will check the ventilation equipment. It involves a smoke test but they say it is harmless with no effect on nearby homes.

More than 38,000 vehicles use the tunnel on the A38 every day.
