Firms given green accreditation
Four Cornish businesses have been accredited under a Europe-wide Green Tourism Business award scheme.

The awards are run by the not-for-profit Green Business UK Ltd, and graded on 120 measures of best environmental practice.

Pollaughan Farm Cottages in Roseland, Venus Beach Café in Tolcarne, Primrose Valley Hotel in St Ives and Falmouth's Penwarren Guest House were accredited.

The firms are the first in the county to gain the green credentials.

The scheme aims to encourage tourism businesses to do more recycling and use sustainable and renewable energy sources.

Businesses are assessed once every two years and graded on environmental, economic and social issues.
