Services issue safety information
A30
Queuing traffic on the A30 will be handed information bags
Special carrier bags containing information on road, beach, coast, camp and fire safety are being distributed to holidaymakers in Cornwall.

About 10,000 bags are being handed out in August to drivers and beach-goers by the fire service, police and road safety staff.

The bags also contain leaflets which have details on crime prevention, phone numbers and medical information.

The joint initiative's aim is to keep tourists safe in the county.

The bags will be handed out on Polzeath and Bude beaches and also to people stuck in traffic on the A30 on Saturdays.

Sub Officer Phil Cooper said: "We trialled the roadside distribution on 23 July and handed out 800 bags in just over an hour.

A spokesman said a risk assessment had been carried out to ensure the firefighters safety while distributing the bags.

The bags include a freepost card so the team can receive feedback.
